M\u00f6llenbeck Monastery is owned by the Protestant Reformed Church and was founded as a monastery in 896. The two Ottonian round towers of the westwork of the church are still preserved from this period, while the rest of the complex was completely destroyed by fire in 1248.<\/p>\n
The rebuilt complex fell victim to another fire in 1474; the crypt was preserved.<\/p>\n
The current church building and the monastery were completed in 1505. After an eventful history, during which the buildings were at times used as stables, among other things, community life is now taking place again in the rooms of the church and the first floor of the monastery. In addition, some rooms on the first floor are used for extra-community events such as seminars, concerts and exhibitions. A youth recreation center is located on the upper floor of the monastery. The monastery complex is a listed building.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div>The three-winged monastery complex is to be upgraded in terms of fire protection, taking into account the requirements of listed buildings. In addition to the installation of an additional escape staircase in the former monastery kitchen, the installation and upgrading of fire and smoke protection elements, the renewal and expansion of the fire protection and safety systems and the redesign of the outdoor areas around the monastery are planned. In addition, the energy efficiency of the building will be improved by insulating the top floor ceiling.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
